• We provide 10 competitive fellowships for young researchers who face financial challenges in paying the cost of attendance (registration fee, lodging & travel).
• Young academics from Europe are awarded CHF 500, young academics from overseas receive CHF 1'000.
• Priority will be given to young researchers from groups or countries that are traditionally underrepresented at international conferences.
• Eligible are PhD Students, Postdocs or researchers that have obtained their PhD no more than six years ago.
• Application deadline is April 15, 2023.

Procedure to apply for a fellowship:

1. Register for the conference (Step 1).
2. Send your abstract (submitted during Step 1), a letter of motivation, and a (short) confirmation of support from your PI to coordination@evolution.uzh.ch by April 15, 2023.
3. If you can only participate if you receive a fellowship, you can cancel your registration at no cost. In that case do NOT book a bedroom and the excursion yet (to avoid cancellation fees) - we have reserved accommodation for the awardees.
4. Notification of applicants will be by April 25, 2023.

The registration fee for all current and former URPP Evolution in Action Postdocs and PhD Students is waived.

Procedure to apply for refunding of registration fee:

1. Register for the conference (Step 1).
2. Book your bedroom & optionally the excursion (Step 2).
3. Send an email to coordination@evolution.uzh.ch to request your refund.
